Caring for linen: the no-fuss guide
Linen has a reputation for being high-maintenance. It isn’t — it’s just honest. Treat it gently and it rewards you with years of softness. Here’s how to keep your throws, napkins and bedding looking their best.
Wash cool, wash gentle
A 30–40°C cycle with a mild detergent is all linen needs. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the fibres and dulls their natural lustre. A little white vinegar in the rinse keeps things soft the natural way.
Dry low, fold while slightly damp
Line drying is kindest, but a low tumble works too — just take it out while there’s still a hint of moisture. Folding it then smooths out most creases, so you can usually skip the iron entirely.
Embrace the wrinkles
Part of linen’s charm is its relaxed, lived-in look. Our throws are stonewashed precisely so you don’t have to fuss. The more you use them, the better they get.
